I used to think that it’s a small compromise and suddenly I was living in a version of my life that feels foreign to me. I betrayed myself in a way.

…Gabrielle Solis and Edie Britt are both beautiful, but that’s honestly where it stops. Gabby is the fantasy. Being chosen. Being kept. Being admired from the outside. Her beauty works because it’s attached to something: money, marriage, attention. When those things start slipping, so does she. Her power depends on being wanted, protected, secured.

I used to love Gabrielle Solis. Who didn’t? Her hair, her style, her sexy attitude, the way she seemed to have it all. Rich husband, gorgeous house, endless parties, panties & drawer of lingerie! She looked like the fantasy girl; someone who could live life on her own terms. I loved that part of her. I loved the glamour, the way she carried herself.

But the more I watched, the more I realized Gabby wasn’t living on her own terms anymore, at all. Somewhere along the way, she got soft in ways that annoyed me. For the SEXYCHIC girl, Gabrielle Solis is a cautionary tale. She is what happens when beauty is your leverage, but not your foundation.

She starts out untouchable. Everyone wants her. She’s admired, maintained, dressed, praised. Her life looks expensive because someone else is paying for it, emotionally, financially, energetically. She doesn’t notice the danger at first because somewhere along her journey as a former supermodel, she equated attention for power. Being chosen feels like security.

But it’s conditional. The problem with being a Gabby is that her power lives outside of her. It’s tied to a husband, a lifestyle, a man’s desire, the room staying impressed. What happened when the attention shifted, when the money tightened, when the admiration dulled? She panicked. Not because she’s lost love, but because she’s lost leverage. She began to let herself go as a result. So she compromises. She clings. She performs. She gets louder, needier, sharper in the wrong way. She becomes bitter, two faced, fake without realizing it. The same beauty that once protected her now works against her, because it was never reinforced with self trust, independence, or strategy.

After the first few glamorous seasons of Gabby’s hypnotic beauty, she doesn’t age badly because she ages. She ages badly because she never built anything underneath the beauty. She confuses being desired with being secure, and mistakes luxury for power. She believes being kept is the same as being chosen forever. And when that illusion cracks, she doesn’t know who she is without the mirror reflecting approval back at her. That’s the warning.

Being a Gabby girl feels good early on. But it’s fragile. If your beauty depends on someone else maintaining it, you’ll always be afraid of losing them.
If your confidence depends on attention, you’ll chase it. If your identity depends on being chosen, you’ll eventually accept less than you deserve just to stay picked.

She just became… forgettable. You could admire her, sure, but you wouldn’t fear her, envy her, remember her the way you did in the earlier seasons as someone who really owned herself. And that’s the danger.

Edie Britt, however, that’s different. Now that I’m 25 and more awake from the beauty hypnosis of Gaby Solis, I’ve come to see that I am more Edie than Gabby. She may not have her sisterhood like the rest of them do, but she’s not weak. She’s not making herself a victim because of the loneliness. She’s sharp, glamorous, flirty, sensual, irresistibly playful, unapologetic, and so, so envied. She doesn’t settle for less than she deserves. She knows what she wants and she takes it, without apologizing. She refuses to let the useless emotion that is shame run her life. Hot!

She’s envied (not just for her looks), but because she’s deliciously magnetic. Why should she let anyone manipulate her? I see myself in Edie. I see myself in her boldness, her loneliness, her hyper femininity, her magnetism, her unapologetic self. I see her in the way she decorates herself, her aesthetic, the way she dresses, the way she handles relationships. She takes what she wants, she doesn’t apologize, she doesn’t soften for anyone. Gabby clings. She bends. She lets love or fear run her life. Edie stands alone and owns it.

I see her in the way she handles relationships. She dates men like men date women. She doesn’t need them. She’s sovereign and she will away if it’s not right for her. This is why men love her. She’s a sexy rollercoaster. She is impossible to figure out. Confident and sexual without needing to prove herself. They’re all drawn to her energy, her fire, the way she moves through life knowing she’s desired, whether they admit or not.

I wish Gabby and Edie became closer. Maybe then Gabby wouldn’t of let a deadbeat version of love, or even the idea of love, run her life. If supermodel Gabby from the earlier seasons became sisters with Edie, then I like to think she wouldn’t of compromised herself for anyone else’s comfort or approval, like Edie didn’t. Edie stood alone, and she owned it. She moved through loneliness with confidence, knowing that being alone didn’t make her weak, instead it sharpened her. She made herself irresistibly untouchable because she knew exactly who she is, and she wasn’t going to let anyone else dictate it.

I also am obsessed with how calculated and scorpionic Edie is. She knows how to be petty and why it matters. She doesn’t scream or cry when someone crosses her. She acts. She becomes karma. Think of the way she handles Susan or Bree when they try to meddle in her life. She’s elegant with it just as much as she is dangerous.This and Gabby’s sexy attitude (which I initially loved) became day and night. In later seasons I kept seeing Gabby react, complains, stew. It was so disappointing to see! Edie should have given her notes on how to make people feel the weight of crossing her. Her ethos is very much: This pussy bites back! And hard. Meow.

Edie is the representation of feminine fantasy, and in that representation she’s also a mirror of projections. Women hate Edie because she doesn’t play by anyone’s rules. She doesn’t dim or dilute her aura to make them comfortable. She’s clever, confident, and she doesn’t care if they like her. She’s everything they want to be but can’t allow themselves to be. That’s why they project all those insults, misogyny and envy onto her, because her feminine magnetism makes her dangerous in their eyes.

I sleep when I want, cancel what bores me, light candles, drink blue lotus tea, and scroll just enough to feel inspired, not jealous. I let the house smell like roses & cookies, and I wear lingerie under my sweaters.

1. Lighting Rose Incense

Winter makes everything feel quieter, heavier, more internal. I’m learning to stop rushing myself out of this. Lighting rose incense has become my way of opening my energy back up again gently, not aggressively. I light rose incense & let the room soften before I even decide what kind of day it’s going to be. Rose keeps me open. It reminds me I don’t need to become sharp or numb just because it’s cold outside, both literally and energetically. I light it when the light is still blue in the morning, or late at night when I want to feel held instead of restless. It’s sensual, romantic & a small luxury that keeps me connected to my body.

2. Making Pinterest Boards

When I don’t have the energy to do, I let myself imagine. I make Pinterest boards the way other people journal. Kitchens I haven’t lived in yet. Palm trees, mirrors, silk, mermaid textures, softness. There’s no pressure to turn it into anything. No manifestation homework. It’s just me staying in touch with my taste, my desire, my inner world. Letting my eye wander reminds me that my inner world is still alive, still desiring, still beautiful, even if my outer life feels on pause right now. It keeps my sense of taste intact, which feels essential to who I am.

3. Baking Sweets & Learning to Bake in a Way That Nourishes Me

Baking has become comforting, almost ritualistic. I still let myself make sweets because pleasure matters, especially in winter, but I’ve also started learning how to bake in a way that doesn’t leave me feeling depleted afterward. Less sugar spikes, more grounding ingredients. Things with warmth and substance. I like the patience baking requires, the way it slows time and fills the house with something tangible. It gives me a sense of care, like I’m providing for myself, emotionally and physically, instead of waiting for life to feel generous again.

4. Cutting Down Social Media to Protect My Nervous System

This has been one of the biggest shifts. Scrolling was making my days heavier than it already is. Watching other people’s lives move faster while mine is slower was doing damage. So I stopped. I still post for SEXYCHIC because that feels intentional, but scrolling casually, especially TikTok and Instagram, was quietly (and quickly) eroding my self worth. I couldn’t stop comparing myself, my life, my winter, my location, my timing, my pace to others.

5. Reconnecting With My Faith, Slowly, Honestly, Gently

I’m returning to my spirituality in a way that feels grown and gentle. Not performative, not desperate, not transactional. I’m letting my priestess soul, my mermaid soul, my goddess essence come forward naturally instead of forcing myself to feel enlightened or protected all the time. In doing so, I’m practicing surrender & ultimately stepping out of this worlds matrix(es) mentality. I’m also unlearning the habit of punishing myself when my wishes don’t materialize immediately. I’m practicing patience with the Divine that be, and with myself. Rejection is protection & redirection. Delays aren’t denials. Some things need quiet seasons to form.

6. Evening Music Instead of Noise

At night, I choose music over stimulation. Jazz, old love songs, oceanic sounds, feminine voices, mermaid lullabies, healing frequencies. Music keeps me connected to romance and my Venusian core.

7. Writing Without an Aesthethic

I write in my digital diary entry whatever I feel like. Messy pages. Half thoughts. Confessions I don’t want to refine. Not for approval, not for aesthetic, just to release what’s been sitting inside me.

I love beautiful desserts, pretty plates, vibrant colours, girly textures. Chocolate is my ultimate aphrodisiac and I need my daily fix of it (my Venus placement speaks loud).

I don’t like to cook, but I love to bake. Baking to me feels more fluid, more lighthearted. Whereas cooking feels more science to me. The irony of this is that with cooking you can adjust your hand to your preferences, but with baking it has to be methodical and precise, otherwise it comes out completely wrong.

When I bake, it’s less about the food and more about my femininity of it. It soothes my feminine soul in a way. It becomes a ritual for me. I feel so sweet, feminine, indulgent & intentional. Exactly my vibe. Baking whilst listening to jazz, soft lounge, or 60s-90s music is my Venus on Earth.

My wardrobe is my personality. It’s loud in a feminine way.
I’m not a minimalist girl and I’ve never pretended to be. I love colour. I love kitten heels. I like shoes that look like candy.

My accessories are always a little extra:

These belts tighten my waist, make every outfit look hotter & give my body that hourglass I naturally have but like to exaggerate. They make simple outfits look intentional. They also make me feel like the main character of a desert road trip movie who parked near a motel to get some lousy wings, just to play at the pool table.

💋 High-Heeled Cowgirl Boots

I’ve never been a Calgary Stampede girl, but this year I met my alter ego and she is a cowgirl. Her name is Suzy and she loves her boots. Tall. Tight. High heel. Feminine. Not the dusty ranch kind, the “I’m going to the bar looking wickedly hot” kind.

Suzy shapeshifts so deliciously. My shroom trips have always brought out the dark feminine in me, and my Lilith, my dark feminine, is very flirty, risqué & free. She has a knack for roleplaying. All that power. Legs for days. Sexy. Confident. Chaotic. Cowgirl. Just fits my personality.

I created SEXYCHIC in June 2024, right after graduating from International CIDESCO Beauty School.
